Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and the popular mobile-processing company Square, will be in town today to accept a National Democratic Institute "civic innovator" award. But don't expect to see him on the Hill. Rather, he’ll spend his day visiting Square merchants in the D.C. area, as well as sitting down with Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker. He'll offer the keynote address at this evening’s NDI event. Other American tech honorees include Jennifer Pahlka, U.S. deputy chief technology officer and Code For America founder, Jared Cohen, director of Google Ideas, Ginny Hunt, strategy principal for Google’s U.S. civics team, and Beth Noveck, founder of the Governance Lab in the U.S.
