Brian Giacometti
Brian Giacometti is the Libya Country Director for the National Democratic Institute, overseeing a portfolio oriented around political processes, including civil society, governance, elections, women, and youth programs. With over 15 years of political, policy, and development experience, Mr. Giacometti has worked overseas since 2010 managing programs in Iraq, China, Vietnam, and Malawi. Before moving overseas, he served as a Legislative Aide in Massachusetts and was responsible for legislative drafting, coalition building, and constituent services. In addition, he has consulted for the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, and the Asian Development Bank General Counsel's office. Mr. Giacometti holds a JD from Georgetown University and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College where he focused on governance systems of the Middle East.
