Dickson Omondi
Dickson Omondi is NDI's regional director for Southern and East Africa. Mr. Omondi has over 20 years of experience in political party strengthening, legislative development, advancing electoral integrity, and civil society development work. He joined the Institute in 2001 from the League of Kenya Women Voters where he helped pioneer youth political participation programs. His experience at NDI has involved long-term and short term assignments to over 10 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South-Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and South Africa. Prior to his current role, Mr. Omondi served as NDI’s Resident Country Director in Kenya where he led the Institute’s work to promote inclusive, transparent and accountable political processes. Mr. Omondi also served with NDI specialized election team based in Washington, D.C., that provides strategic and technical support to the Institute's electoral integrity programs across the globe. Mr. Omondi's other interests are minority rights and inclusion, environmental and natural resource management, and climate change.
