Sarah Yun
Based in Seoul, South Korea, Sarah Yun manages NDI’s programs strengthening human rights and democracy in North Korea. Sarah is a democracy and human rights, development, and international affairs expert with a focus on Asia, especially North Korea. Prior to joining NDI, Sarah was the former Senior Manager for Asia at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), overseeing the North Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines programs and teams. She also worked at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) where she managed the North Korea and Cambodia programs, in addition to the Papua New Guinea program and field office.
Previously, Sarah worked at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld as an Asia and Korea policy expert and the Korea Economic Institute (KEI) in Washington, DC as the Director of Public Affairs and Regional Issues. Sarah was also an AmeriCorps member, providing economic empowerment opportunities for women. Sarah holds a BA in Political Science and Business Institutions from Northwestern University and an MA in International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
